Typeface: Arial

The font I'm using -

Font: Arial
sans-serif typeface

What the heck are serifs?

Serifs are those small stroke lines attached to each letter on certain fonts such as Times and Times New Roman.

'sans' simply means without in French. Therefor a sans-serif typeface does not have any stroke lines just like Arial.

Why Arial?

Arial was created to look exactly like Helvetica but not have a licensing fee. Cheap bastards.
Coincidentally, Blogger provides the option to use both Arial and Helvetica so someone is paying licensing fee somewhere down the line.

Arial
ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ

Helvetica
ABCEDFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ

Can't tell the difference? neither can anyone or anything; they are 'metrically' identical.
