Final Cut Pro X 10.4 Update
Final Cut Pro X joined modern society and now fully supports all of todays catchphrases: HDR, VR and 8K. Hot on DaVinci's heels (that may be far reaching) color wheels and curves have also been added to make the app more color grading friendly.
Making HDR and VR a user friendly editing experience is a big deal, because before now I'd argue that this sort of specialized creation was limited only to production houses with large budgets and $23K Sony OLED HDR mastering monitors. A neat feature called 'Show HDR as raw values' allows for a rough approximation of what the HDR image looks like while using an SDR monitor instead of simply clipping all highlights above 100.
