Canon 5D Mark II and CF Speed
I have the Canon 5D Mark II (wish it were the III) rented out from my company for this extended 4th of July weekend. Right off the bat the video quality is lacking compared to the newer (and cheaper) batch of 4K cameras even when recording in 1080p.
The video bitrate at 1080p23.976 is 50Mbps, which shows significant artifacting, which is probably due to the fact that H.264 compression was much less efficient at compressing video back in 2012 when this camera was released. In retrospect, the 50 Mbps compression of the 4K video coming out of the iPhone 6S looks much better.
After getting used to the enormous bitrate of 4K RAW at 2Gbps with matching speedy SSD storage, it is amazing to see that the current fastest SanDisk Extreme Pro CF card can barely pull off 1Gbps with a USB 3.0 interface.
