Sorry AVC, VP9 won

After comparing the quality at 1080p of a video I posted to YouTube, one can easily see just how much more efficient and visually pleasing VP9 is at a similar bitrate compared to AVC encoding.

The original video is 4K60p. But YouTube only supports 4K at 60 frames per second with the VP9 codec and not AVC. This means Safari only supports up to 4K30p (in AVC), so if you want to see the original high resolution, high frame rate glory, Chrome must be used.
