New MacPro arrival
According to Apple's website the new MacPro will be launched with 4 and 6 core configurations for $2999 and $3999 respectively. Now, MacRumors reportedly has information on the prices of further upgrades.

At first the pricing appears to be extravagant. But considering that the CPU is Xeon server grade, the RAM being ECC and the storage PCIe you cannot compare the prices to a desktop level computer.
The new plan of having all storage externally via up to 6 Thunderbolt 2 cables is no doubt a great idea to keep footprint size down. But one must think how Apple is it to have so many cables hanging off your computer anyway?
