8K coming in 2014
Out with the old not-even-here-yet 4K and in with 8K!
Our friends over in Russia announced yesterday that the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics will be shot in Super-Hi Vision (that's 7680x4320 resolution). Not to be outdone, the 8K mother land plans to broadcast its 2020 Olympics in the same retina burning resolution as well. With this news, H.265 can't come soon enough.
